- Situated 15 kms from Planters Cabin, Panchalimedu is a hill station and view point. On Makara sankranthi many Ayyappa devotees assemble here to witness the makara vilakku that appears in the vicinity of Sabarimala temple.
It’s believed that pandavas along with panchaly lived in exile here and they lived in a cave here where the big footprint of Bhima is believed to be stamped in a rock. There is also a panchali kulam which doesn’t dry in summer also where the pandavas used to take bath. Now there is a small temple dedicated to goddess Bhuvaneshwari and is run by Travancore Dewaswom board.
